Put YOURSELF first

You’ve heard it before, I’m 100% sure of this.  Because like most of the world, and mamas in particular, we hear it and just throw it to the way side.  It’s that important bit of advice that tells us to put ourselves first, take care of yourself so you can take care of others.  I did my share of taking care of all my family, husband and three kids; for years it was all of me doing all for them.  Feeling drained, feeling sad, feeling Not myself.  It’s like the girl I was got lost in the motion, and she was put away in a closet.  The years of just being a mom, the years of being Moni’s mom, Gilberts mom, and Andrews mom.  Although I felt extremely proud being their mom, and hearing their friends call me so and so’s mom, always melted my heart.  In their little hearts I was the most important person in their lives.  None the less, I was losing the person I was before I became their everything.  If you see me today, it’s a whole different story and I’m a whole different person.  I am filled with Joy, I am filled with pride, and I am madly in love with my husband.  But I brought who I was out of the closet again and gave her the freedom to be.  Like I’ve said before, I am a product of many sage teachers; and I thank God for this.  It’s a blessing being open minded, being thirsty for knowledge and different points of view.  I’m fortunate to read books and take what is meant for me, and one of those things was the importance of Exercise.  If you take anything from my blog it would be the importance of a little exercise in your life.  At least 3 times a week to start, maybe every other day.  Find what you enjoy, buy yourself some cute workout clothes, some bright walking shoes, some snazzy running shoes.  Make yourself feel beautiful!!, get your headphones and walk to the music.  It all starts with taking that first step and saying little by little I will walk a little farther.  Take your time, be gentle and patient.  Respect your body, let yourself rest if needed; but, whatever you do, please don’t give up.  Exercise is the best gift you can give yourself.  Endorphins that flood your mind with happiness.  Better fitting clothes.  Vitamin D if you are walking outdoors.  Amazing benefits, you have to do it, put yourself first sweetheart! put yourself first.
